Carla Jackson Bell, Ph.D., Founder and CEO Trainer
Carla is a transformational leader with over 30-years of teaching and administrative experience. She has a proven track record of developing new programs, enhancing curricular content, and increasing enrollment, particularly among marginalized populations. Her efforts have been recognized publicly through increased scholarships for students and academic accolades for her contributions to education and leadership training.
Carla is committed to transforming operations for greater efficiency and providing holistic education to students from all backgrounds. She has strengthened collaborations between Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs) and has developed successful seminars on culturally relevant practices in architecture. Her edited book, Space Unveiled: Invisible Cultures in the Design Studio, has significantly influenced research and teaching methodologies. With over 50 published works, including scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles, Carla has secured over $2.5 million in research grants focused on enhanced infrastructure projects and architecture, historic preservation, and design education. Her career showcases a breadth of work that has gained national attention and brought hidden perspectives to light. Carla successfully led the reaccreditation visit for the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and twice for the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), achieving the first-ever eight-year accreditation for both departments. Carla also holds executive leadership training and certifications from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
